From January 2027, community pharmacies across Australia will begin delivering services under the national Women's Health Program - including assessment and treatment of uncomplicated UTIs, and initiation and resupply of selected hormonal contraceptives.
This workshop is designed to help you build genuine clinical confidence ahead of that change - not through theory alone, but through real case-based discussion and hands-on practice.

Your instructor
Associate Professor Peta-Ann Teague has worked as a General Practitioner for more than 30 years, combining clinical practice with undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical supervision.
She has held senior academic and leadership roles, including Acting Dean of the College of Medicine and Dentistry at James Cook University, and serves as an examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Teague played a key role in the design and implementation of the James Cook University Professional Practice for Pharmacists program. She continues to practise as a GP in rural Queensland while contributing to the ongoing development of pharmacist education.
In this workshop, she brings that same practical, case-based approach to women's health — helping pharmacists build real clinical confidence in contraception counselling, UTI assessment, and complex patient scenarios.
